Comment: i know this is not a exact programming question but i thought it the best place to place it. i am trying to install VS.net on my new pc. however when i do i get a message telling me that a file needs to reboot the computer. now other type of programs do install correctly. i have tryed rebooting the system several times. no go. any ideas

Reply: (edit)1) Has it got all the prerequisites installed. 2) If you don't need any of the web based stuff , don't install it 3) It needs several reboots to install the whole thing. If you're doing XP, Visual Studio.net with SQL Server and Office, it will be at least 8 reboots and a whole day! Try disconnecting from the net before installing. It may be picking up some online site stuff which you don't really need.
