Hi,
I have learned C++ and create program in DOS environment, and now i would like to create Window application.

Last year i bought a book call: "Visual C++ 6 in 24 hours".(I didn't start it yet..) But today, i realize that there are a new version of Visual C++(Visual C++ .NET).

It seem that Visual C++ 6 is using MFC, but Visual C++ .NET use other thing...

So which one i should learn??

If i learn Visual C++, would it help me to learn Visual Basic later??

Is there similarity between Visual C++ and Visual Basic????

.NET is another one of microslofts attempt to further dominate the software industry. I haven't used it, but I've seen it and I think it sucks. Don't take my word for it tho...its just my biased oppinion:)

Learning VC++ will only help you realize you shouldn't learn VB:þ The only thing VB is good for is to write programs fast...but they are large, slow, and require runtime dlls. There really isn't much in common. The syntax is diff. VB isn't case sensitive, multithreading is a nightmare(not too possible), its programs are SLOW, buggy, and you have no power or control what-so-ever. I guess VB is nice to know since companys(I don't know why) actually hire ppl to write software in VB. I learned it:( but never use it anymore except to help ppl that are trying to learn programming.

...well, I kinda went off on a tangent there...Hope that helps a bit...
