Comment: Hey all, Im having a problem with Visual basic, seeing as i actually wanna learn it finally, i cant install it. I've installed it multiple times on this machine before but everytime i try lately i keep getting this error message near the end of the installation. "Setup was unable to create a DCOM user account in order to register 'C:\program Files\microsoft Visual Studio\CommonaTools\VS-Emt98\Vanalyzer\Valec.exe' Has anyone ever seen or heard of this kind of error before? This has never happened before and its pissing me off honestly. Any help will be appreciated.

Reply: (edit)Off of the root directory on the VB installation CD is a folder name DCOM98. In that folder is an executable named DCOM98.EXE. Run this app and then reboot and try to install VB once again. This should fix the problem. borelli34
