I was wondering if there was any way to connect to a computer behind a router in visual basic...neither the routers ip or the computers one works. is there some special port i need to connect to, or does the listening side have to tell the router to do a certin thing? any information is helpful. thanks

You will need to forward the port you want to connect to. There should be some options in the routers setup that will enable you to do so. Something like set the IP, port, and protocols that it should allow though for that IP.
Hope that helps.

Sorry im not the original questioner, but how come when I installed kazaa, I didnt need to setup port forwarding? in other words there must be a way to do what eaw8806 wants to do through coding.
