Visual Basic Addition Script

Specs: Windows XP
hi i'm currently learning basic of Visual Basic and im making a sample script of addition which works..but i need to concatenate some data with the output..for eg Im trying to add two no's

text1.text=1
and text 2.text=3

So in text3.text i need the following output

The numbers are
1 and 3
The Output is
4

Im using a command button
text3.text = val(text1.text) + val(text2.text)

help out guys

You don't specify which version of VB you're using (there's half a dozen or so), but not all of them don't have a "val()" function.

I don't use VB6, but that line looks legal. What happens when you try? Do you get an error? What error?
