i'm just wondering how you can get the size of an swf (macromedia flash) file in VB6. just the width and height of what actually shows up in a webpage, ya know?

thanks in advance :)

phyre,

Don't have the time to write you an algorithm, but you can find the info for the SWF header here:

http://www.the-labs.com/MacromediaFlash/SWF-Spec/SWFfileformat.html

Just open the file as a stream and read in the data. Once you get past the useless stuff (about 5-6 bytes), you'll get a RECT structure that is the width and height.

Hope this helps you out...good luck on your project!
