Comment:

What are the consequences of storing large amounts of text in a DataBase?

Instead of contracting a programmer to create questionares the company is using provided text fields in the database to pasted updated notes from Word into the DB.

I don't have a good feeling about this and can see text bloat effecting the database.

Your thoughts?

Potentially a big waste of space. Unless records are small and multiple records are useable by a single entry.
How are you locating the answers to your questions? A text search is highly inefficient. You could probably find a template for a questionare. If you want comments a linked text file.
