Comment:
When I opened a VB application I got a message stating that mscomctl.ocx was missing. Could anyone tell me for what this ocx file is used and is VB the only application that uses this ocx file. Is it in anyway related to the OS? In which folder does this ocx file exists or should exist?

MSCOMCTL.OCX is Microsoft Common Controls, which includes progress bars, status bars, tabs (I think), and some other stuff. I don't think MSCOMCTL is a recent version (the version on the computer I am on [at school, Windows 2000] is from June of 1998), but it should be in your Windows\System directory.

Actually, on Windows standard editions (home versions) it is found in \Windows\System but on NT based systems NT/2000/XP it is found in \%WinDir%\System32
