Specs: Windows xp sp2
I need to create a variable with user input then use the variable to edit two separate ini files. Also would like to create another variable to use to rename computer with wmi if possible.

the problem here is that batch has to rewrite the ini file(unless someones smarter than me). so you would have to read in and then change the line that you are modifying and then output overwriting the origional.

this is great if its a small ini

Post the ini file. If it's large post it to then link it here.
