Specs: Windows XP
I have an xml file that I need to open and save as a .xls. Can that be done?

yes its kind of easy. you can either turn on "show file extension" or do it with bat. make a folder with all of the .xml files you want to rename, and create a new notepad file in the folder created. in it type ren *.xml %random%.xls and save it as a .bat file and run it. I dont know however if excel will open this file but you can give it your best shot
