Four thoughts:

1. Failure to plan on your part, does not create an emergency on my part.

2 . homework rant

3. Given that 0 is one of your digits, couldn't you just count from 00000 to 99999

4. For numbers with 5 digits, use five nested loops

++, print, ++, print.

Think about it - what kind of loop can you use that allows you to test a condition, do something, test the condition again, etc until the condition is met?

You might not be thinking like a programmer if this does not come to you in under 5 minutes.

For old times sake, I just checked out the homework rant again...Anybody else notice that the exploding cell phones idea turned into "dinging" cell phones (whatever that means...Was that the best substitution the admin could come up with???) And is this like an airport now? All references to es banned...

Of course, my post wasn't censored. This is because I'm Justin's favorite. He's like a father to me, you know.

P.S. Sorry to post off topic and meaning no offense to the powers that censor, but I couldn't help it...There haven't been any good questions for a while and I'm getting antsy (sp?)

My Homework Rant still mentions exploding cell phones. Searched for 'ding' and found nothing. Maybe your ISP is censoring your downloads!

I'd agree, not many interesting posts lately.

"I'd agree, not many interesting posts lately."

I'm not sure you guys are really filling the gap here, though.

This is messed up...Twilight zone material. I went to the page and it wasn't censored anymore. I actually decided the "ding" was the end of "build exploding", rather than a somewhat odd choice for a substitution for exploding, but I don't know how the first letters could have gotten lost. I swear I'm not making this up...That was at school (electrical networks class was even more dead than this forum is lately - thank goodness they provided each desk with a computer and internet access...:-) And now I'm at home, so I'll try again on monday and see if the same thing happens.

anon-I'm not sure I get your meaning...Are you saying Don and I are boring too? That's it, you're going down. Time to open a can.

:-)

Sorry that I have been a ghost lately... actually just got back to town, had to go to the coast for an interview, the company paid for it... whoo hooo!

At any rate, the homework rant thread still lists "exploding" in all of its glory for me.
That's fairly odd that it briefly went off track... hmmm.

I personally think Don's #3 is the easiest solution, (3. Given that 0 is one of your digits, couldn't you just count from 00000 to 99999)... create the numbers in a collection then sort them... even write a function that will randomly return a few... :0)
