Hi I want to use md5sum to find, print, and remove duplicate files using a bash script. Can anyone help me with this?

md5sum is a hash of a file. If you have a known md5sum and you wish to find all files that have the same md5sum, you will have to calculate the md5sum for each file.

This very old link:

http://www.computing.net/answers/un...

discusses finding duplicate files only it uses cksum and not md5sum. You should be able to modify it to suit your needs if you insist on using md5sum.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments.
