Tskill - Cannot get bat file to work!

June 12, 2011 at 22:05:33
Specs: Windows XP Home, Atom / 1.5g RAM
Hi, I am trying to create 2 bat files as a learning exercise (beginner), the first, Open.bat, & the second, Close.bat.
Open.bat will start a program. In this e.g. I'm using Convert.

Code: Start "title" "C:\Program Files\JoshMadison\convert\convert.exe" (This works)

The second should close it but I cannot get it to work.

Code: Tskill convert

Prior to this, I opened the command prompt, typed Taskkill & it was not recognised. Then I typed Tskill & this was recognised.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you

I have tried it on another PC which runs XP Pro & it works, but not on my laptop which runs XP Home ed. I have also tried them to open & close different software, documents etc. They open fine but will not close on laptop.

I have checked the name of the process using the task manager - Process tab & it's correct.
