Trying to run a bat file w/ a svc at startup

June 21, 2010 at 21:55:11
Specs: Windows 2003
I'm trying to run a batch file with a self created service (using sc create), upon startup (without logon). When the service tries to start, I keep getting the error "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" and the service will not run?

I've tried local and network credentials, I've tried allowing interacting with the desktop and not.

Any ideas?

From all I've read, I don't think it's possible to natively execute a
bat file as a service. If you're willing to go with third-party
solution, it seems there are some programs that accomplish the
task. Another alternative is using Task Scheduler to run the bat
at System startup.

I had considered using the scheduled task service, I guess that is my only option at his point, or write an exe for it.

Thank you for the reply.
