It is a fairly safe bet that if your target audience tries to open a MIDI file, it will start to play within an application such as Windows Media Player.

As a list of instructions, MIDI cannot be recreated as an exe per se. It can only be combined with something which interprets the instructions.

What is your motivation? Do you want to keep file size right down or stop your viewers from being able to recreate your music and then copy / alter it? If the latter, then you are better off converting it up to wav or mp3, and for the former, stick with MIDI.

Hope thats of help

Tom
