Hi All,

We are working on a File transfer between Unix and Mainframes systems. We are using SFTP transmission to pull a file from a UNIX box to a Windows Machine and from Windows machine to Mainframes via FTP. However, Before the file is transmitted to Mainframes, it has lot of records. But after transmitting to Mainframes, we are having only one record. Does any one have any Idea how to get around of this problem ?

With text files, in Windows/DOS, the record (or line) seperator is the carriage return, CR and line feed, LF. In Unix, it's only the LF.

I haven't worked with a mainframe since the 80s so I can not help much. I don't mean to elaborate on the obvious, but it looks like the record seperator is being stripped off during the transfer to the mainframe which is why the file looks like one record.

Probably it's time to check the mainframe docs or talk to a mainframe expert.
