I was wondering if anyone knew any information on touch screen programming.
The project I am trying to complete is to take a 37" Plasma screen, install a touch screen frame over it, and I need a custom program that will display all the computers on the network. Also this needs to provide information on each computer by just touching whichever one you want to see.
Would anyone happen to have any information on freelance programmers, or programming companies that could provide this type of work. Money is not an issue.

The person that makes the touch screen for you should have the interface specifications. Most touch screens emulate a mouse. So the standard window's mouse handler should work. The problem is making that big a touch screen. You should be able to develope the software on a standard touch screen monitor or lcd panel. You will need a calibration routine to map the four corners. You may have to find which video card will be able to fill the panel properly. Remember most TV-type displays have less resolution than computer monitors.

Wow what a fun project. I'd love to do it, but I probably don't live in your area. I love working for people when they say "money is not an object." Unfortunately, I usually get the other kind of clients...
Some touch screen manufacturers:
cybertouch.comYou can find more in google. Once you have your touch screen, you can hire a decent programmer in your area to write software for it. Make sure the touch screen manufacturer gives very good specs, or the programmer will hate you. Loads of sites to find nearby programmers, just google for them. I think rentacoder.com is one of the more popular.
Good luck,
-SN
