Swap File Name Positions; ADD addtl position

Specs: Windows XP
How can I swap filename position data (either with VB or BATCH? Maybe something else)...ie


and then add another portion to the filename once changed.....ie

20091225.ABCD. 888880D.123456.XXX.111.PPP

This would NOT need to include parsing anything out from the file.
