Hi guys,

I am a programmer .
I want to know , Can we start an application ( Windows form) using windows service.

I have created a windows service and in start() method i have put an application and started that app by process .
When i start that service then it would not work.
So, is it possible to start an application using windows service.?

Thanks & Regards,

I was able to get this working by checking the "Allow service to interact with desktop" check box on the "Log On" tab of the service properties.

Keep in mind, Vista doesn't support this (I've heard; I have XP) and Windows 7 won't either. Also, there are solutions for getting this check box selected during the install, which I have working as well, but even when that box is checked from install, the Win form doesn't launch in the foreground (although task manager shows the process is running, so be careful not to keep starting the same app over and over). If I de-select it, apply, re-select and apply again, then it works fine. The check box setting is stored in the registry, so I'm guessing it's a permissions/security issue.
