I've seen plenty of free source code checkers/beautifiers offered but never tried any.

Does someone here have a favorite?

c and c++ in particulr.

If you use Visual Studio it has a built-in formatter. Select the text for format and press ALT+F8.

I've not used any others since I write my code all pretty the first time ;)
