Comment:

I recently bought a Music CD distributed by SONY. However, I cannot play it on my PC (as mentioned on the cover - in that perspective it was no surprise). But as I think it is my f*# Godgiven right to play the CD on my computer (e.g. the one at my office), does anyone know a way around this protection? If I put the CD in my PC, the PC stops working completely...

Thanks in advance

Miguel

The only way around this is to take the CD back to where you bought it and complain about this and refuse to buy a broken product(ie the "new" CD's with such stringent protection systems that you need to buy two copies, one for the car/stereo and one for the PC). Everyone has to do this or the record companies will continue to increase the distribution of these crap CD's. I have seen a few places on the net where you can sign a petition or send a letter to your congressmen complaining about this.

BTW, I am very surprised that the CD cover mentioned this protection system. The record companies have historically been sneaky little b---tards about their release and integration of this into the public.
