Set IP Addresses within Java App

Hi, i'm trying to write a java app that will in some way be able to set the ip address of the NIC. the ip it will set it to must be in the app. does anyone know if this is possible, i've been looking at the Runtime. functions but it seems that you can only call a file from with it any ideas? thanks for your help Martin
