Hi...I am new to the forums and to programming, but I was wondering how I would go about scheduling a script to check a page every 10 minutes for new members to a forum..and once a new member is found, to automatically send them a private message. And to continuously do this. Thanks and I hope this can be done.
Ryan

This sounds like the sort of thing a spammer might want to do.

It's technically possible, as a forum user, to write software to read a page that tells you who's new, screen-scrape it, parse it, and send HTTP code to the server to tell it to send the message to the new users. It's not simple. It's the sort of thing you might employ a contractor to create for you.

If there are any indpendent consultants on this forum, they may send you a personal reply. Otherwise, they may know of a cheap ready-made application. If not, you could try:

or if your budget is *really* *really* tight:

You'll probably get better answers if you find & post the question in a specialist web developers' forum. This forum is a bit too general and probably doesn't have that many web experts on it.
