Running VBS Scripts from HTML links in Google Chrome

Specs: Windows 7
How do you place contents of .vbs files so that they run from a HTML link ?

I've tried some ActiveX scripts, but it seems that Google Chrome just won't let you run bat, vbs or exe scripts from a browser page.

I'm using Google Chrome kiosk mode, offline, as a frontend for a city ordinance doc manager application , and certain specialized functions would add browsing and research benefits to the user.

You can't. VBScript is a Microsoft proprietary language that only executes under the IE engine. Use JavaScript instead.

Mmmm...being so, how do you run bat/vbs/exe's in Chrome with JS ?

Would you be so kind to provide any JS codes to activate in Chrome such files from a link (href) ? One thing I notice is that when you try to open bat's and vbs's through the application, they open as text in the browser, and all exe's are downloaded.

I'd certainly appreciate your contributions on this, so I may run this offline app.

Thanks !!

Why not just use IE in kiosk mode?

iexplorer -k

Would probably simplify what you're trying to accomplish.

Understood, but Google Chrome has specific advantages as a frontend for document management. It has a PDF reader incorporated, and automatic Flash renewal. In my target culture, users are heavily lazy or apathetic in PC management, so I must depend on self-running apps as part of the routines, since most of them just don't care about pre-installing information processing software...thus, the solution must self-sustain. I also noticed that IE and FF seem too hung up in security browsing, they like to complain a lot about scripts and offline navigation.

And...IE has got no portable version.

I insist...can anybody give me a hint on my original question ? Any Google Chrome heavy tweakers ?
