running turbo c shuts down windows

OS: Windows XP Pro
CPU/Ram: Celeron 1.4 / 256MB RAM

I've had this recurring problem wherein the operating system restarts everytime turbo C is run. This happened on a windows xp pro environment. In some cases, the problem will not occur if the user logs on as admin, but in some, the problem occurs whatever the type of user. Your help would be much appreciated.
