Hello, I've just spent a couple of hours searching for a way to access the boot sector of a drive or floppy. It feels like I've looked everywhere and all the time there's someone saying "Of course it's possible!" but what they probably mean is "I have no idea how that would work." or "I know how but I won't tell you.". Is there anyone here who can tell me how to do this in c/c++? Some example code would be greatly appreciated.
Also I'd like to know how to shut down the computer in assembly when coding a boot loader. And how to go from a boot loader to a kernel. But first how to access the boot sector of a drive/floppy.
Thanks in advance.
