Progress Bar in Batch File - Start in Windows

May 5, 2011 at 14:22:12
Specs: Windows XP
I've seen several sugestions that show the progress of the number of files. i.e. 1of10 files is 10%, 2of10 files is 20%, etc. But, what if nine of the ten files are 1K and one is 3GB? When your copying the 3GB file, it would look like the file hung for 10% of the copy but race through 90% of the copy.

I've looked on the forums on this subject and nobody seems to ask the obvious question.

Isn't there a way to "start" a 'copy process' so that windows would pop up the typical copy/progress bar dialog box?

I just haven't figured out a way to do it... Would be nice to know for sure. :)
