i cant remember the dos cammands for wiping my hard drive so i can then reformat it and install a new os.

Format - but if you're reinstalling XP just boot from the Install disk and partitioning/formatting options will appear onscreen.

If you really want to wipe it with DOS use a debug script.

This will completely *WIPE* the first HD.
