I have a site that works perfectly, I now want to protect the source code and have found a small programme that will do this. Ive tested it on my works site and it works perfectly..however on my site it works but at the same time it puts a horizontal scrollbar on the page when there is no need for one......any ideas? I need to try to sort this quickly and I would be really gratefull. The small programme involves changing the index.htm to page.htm and then creating an index.htm with some basic code and a viewlog.js file with a small string in it As I said it works perfectly on one site but not the other ......thx in anticipation Janine

Why dont you just make the real page page.htm or whatever, and then make index.htm a frame page. Though not the safest way, people will have to sit around reloading and clicking the stop button for a while before they will get to see the whole source code of the page. Then you can always get java script code to stop the right mouse button from working.

That wouldn't do anything. Some browsers have view source buttons. Anyway, people could just telnet to port 80, and get the source. It is IMPOSSIBLE to protect client-side source code (HTML or JavaScript). Though, I have seen some pretty weak encoded JavaScript methods. But they don't protect the source, they just make it hard to read.
