Previously, we were able to use things like "lt" preceeded by an "&" to display a less than sign.

Now that displays fine on the confirmation page but doesn't display when the message is posted.

I first noticed this yesterday but figured that I messed up. Today I paid attention and saw that my less than/greater than signs appeared on the confirmation page, but when the reply posted, the two signs plus the word between them didn't display.

Just thought that I'd bring this to your attention in case that it's not intentional.

Thanks for the work that you do providing this forum.

Don

Hello,

The only way to display the symbols you require is to follow the instructions about posting code. I'm pretty sure the lt and gt things will work but only if they are entered in the confirmation page.

You see, flaws existed in the script that allowed very ingenious people to post unwanted HTML code on the site by using such tricks. I realize most people who were using the tricks were doing so for other, more noble reasons. However, I do not want anyone to even have the option of messing around with the HTML coding of the site.

Therefore, I have modified the code check. In doing so, I most likely eliminated your work around. Like I said, it is not impossible to post the symbols you desire. You must do so as per the instructions in the code posting script. This may be more difficult for you, but having unwanted HTML code on the site is much more concerning to me.

Justin
