Hello, I am about to start a new programming project and since I haven't really programmed anything the last 5 years it would be really nice if someone would like to give me some advice on how to get started with this. The program that I am trying to make is this (if it could be done by linking already existing programs in a creative way, or if what I am looking for already exists in any other program that would be nice too): 1, It should somehow be able to check if a html-document in a webpage has been modified in any way. It doesn't need to provide any information about what parts of the document it is that have been changed. 2, It should be able to send a SMS to my mobile phone in someway, it doesn't matter if I would have to pay traffic charges for that SMS. (I live in sweden) 3, How the program is designed visually or what program language I would have to use doesn't matter. i would write a small program in c that searches every directory and store the modify date, path and filename of each file in a text file and check the values with a scheudled task for changes i dont know how it is in sweden but here in austria you can send a mail to a sms server and the server sends the sms to the mobile phone
