Hello Fellow Programmers!

After reading your comments I did a little research and convinced myself to get MSVS .NET 2003 Academic Version (Yes, I am a student).

But my question is: Can I execute C++ code, if the code is from MS VS 6.0 Enterprise Edition?

meaning, is .net 2003 Backwards compatible with it's predecessors i.e., 6.0?

Please reply Thanks,

-Ghooooost

For the simple (not using .NET specific feature) C++ code, I think it is backward compatible.

For the rest (VB, etc) NOT.

Why not keep both VS6 and VS.NET installed?

We do it at work. You can play with .NET until you are comfortable.
