I have a fellow who owes me $125.00 for Computer training, disk cleanup and loaded 5 programs. He is dragging his butt about payment. I am not in the business but he said he would give $10.00 an hour to help him out. My meager pension likes it when it can be subsidized.

Question: I would like to put a message on his puter so right after the desk top appears this message (maybe, pay me and I will fix your computer)would come up and occupy all of his monitor and he would not be able to use it until I went over and fixed it. 1st I get paid.

Any help on where to place this command and how, will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you ....... anyone

Harry

I love deviousness, so I will offer my services.

Now, there isn't really a place where you can just put a command to do what you want (at least to my knowledge...), but what you can do is put a program that will display a message box saying what you want to say. The problem with that is that you can usually press Alt-F4 to close it, or Ctrl-Alt-Del, so technically he could still use his computer.

But, if you want, I could make a program that displays such message and when the guy closes it, his computer will automatically shut off (which might have more of an impact to him... teehee).

If you agree, the simplist thing to do would to just put my program in the C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp\ folder. Anything in that folder will execute upon start up. The problem with that is that it's easy to delete it. But, if the computer shuts off before the guy can delete it, then theoretically, there shouldn't be a problem.

Just reply if you want me to make that program - it'll take about 20 minutes...

Kev, I love it, sorry I didn't get back sooner, my ISP has been down for about 3 hours. I'm with telus here in BC Canada.

If you still want to make that program I can try it on my own machine.

Go for it, email me if you like and .......
Thank you ever so much.

Why don't you just put in a bios password? Then sell him the password for the money you are owed. ::evil laugh::

First of all, that's just not as fun >: )

Just imagine the expression on his face when his comp goes down. But, yes, that WOULD be easier, but then you can't incorporate some "Pay me now!" message or something. I dunno, it's up to you, Harry.

I'll still make the program anyways (it'll be fun), and you can decide later.

Kevin.
