Specs: Macintosh
How do I make a batch file that sends a command depending on what I typed in?
I want to make a batch fie code creator that uses a custom code to do a certain thing.
EX: new.browser
makes a batch file that starts internet explorer.
I want it to do the same thing as the copy con name.bat, but it does what my code that I am making says.
Any help would be appreciated.

✔ Best Answer
the code should be something like

:: To prompt for user input the " " can contain whatever prompt you want
set /p variables="insert your command here"
::comparison variable
set variablesc=newbrowser
:: compairing variables containing strings then the command to open internet explorer
if %variables% equ %variablesc% start iexplore.exe
::please test and use at own risk

also on a side note, why the bat file on a macintosh?

That should work fine. I am using a mac, but I'm working on batch files in virtualbox.
