Hi:

I got a quick question about writing java webservice client using Java swing. I thought JVM will be enough to run my application. Does it need a container like APACHE TOMCAT?

cant i just use IIS for that purpose

For the client app, the JVM should be all you need. The webservice itself should run in a container, but not the swing application.

You shouldn't even need IIS just to consume a web service.
