You would have to be one heck of a geek to achieve even attempt this - it's a mammoth task. There are firms that have massive programs to do this, enough to make a living out of it.

EDIT: As given

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Modern viruses have become very sophisticated and programs that wish to combat them must be equally sophisticated. While it is barely possible for a home user to create such a program it would seem unlikely that anyone with even a fraction of the necessary knowledge would need to ask basic questions on a forum. You couldn't learn enough on a forum to create even a very primitive anti virus program.

Apple Script is not powerful enough to write anti-virus software. You could do it in Objective-C, which is supplied free with OS X. (When I say "you" I don't mean you personally - you wouldn't ask the question if you had sufficient knowledge to write an anti-virus program.)

Just to add to this, new viruses are released into the wild all the time. You would also have to develop definitions to combat new threats constantly. That would take a ton of time to stay protected.

There are free AV solutions out for MAC, if that is what you are looking for. Avast / Sopho's are larger brands.
