hi guys there are many websites out there who give the ip address of their visitors, i just would like to know how, if any of you know?
let's say, what code should i put on my webpage to have it perform the trick? of course i have little programming knowledge so my page is only html, a script maybe would work?
Stuart: i wanna do it, is all. please don't say "Why do you want to do that though?"
thanxnow i wish you all a good day

if you can use asp on your site, you can use the SessionContents object to get it, otherwise you will need to use a javascript
Chi
They mostly come at night...mostly

sure that's what i want a javascript given that i don't even know what asp is...
i wish someone could elaborate further on that javascript part!
thanx again
bye mat

Hmm, I found several examples in about 5 seconds by doing a search on Google for "javascript find IP address". I would provide a link for you, but then I thought about the old addage of giving a person a fish instead of teaching them to fish. So, go get your own fish!
By the way since Stuart hasn't asked: Why do you want to do that though?
Oh man, I crack myself up!
Michael J

well that's for sure but it ain't working
maybe stuart hasn't asked cause i asked him not to!
so it doesn't work, do you think it may have something to do with my using linux and firefox?
the answer i get is either your ip is or your ip is unknown
any idea?
