i can't view asp pages on my IIS

when i instuled my win 2000 i downloded the iis to be able to creat asp pages, whenever i creat asp page and save them in my inetpup/wwwroot forlder/file name i am not able to veiw them in the browser. the asp page icone turns to dreamwaver. when i also try to connect from dreamwaver by selecting preview in browser i will not be able to view my file. i can view one file, the defualt file but only if i type the ip address. when i try to type localhost\foldername\file name i will not be able to locat any file in my wwwwroot. can some one tell me what the problem might be . thank you.
