How to fix regedit home page HELP

Specs: Windows XP
I recently downloaded an upgrade to some software which turned out to be a virus that locked my home page (start page). I tried various spywares, but nothing worked. Then I went into regedit and deleted it. I now get the blank home page and cannt change it. Can anyonetell me how to set a new home page using regedit? I stupidly did not back up my files.
