how to create a ms dos batch file that copies

Specs: Windows XP
I am trying to create an MS DOS batch file that will back up files from a program file to another folder. I have one working on another PC backing up files to a different folder i tried copying the command line to the other pc and change the folder it copies to but had no luck. Can you help?

source file locations and name format is the same?
you have proper security credentials to be accessing both the source and destination directories?

Can we see a copy of the bat file that you have?

Using C:\test as the source and D:\test as the destination, I use this:


xcopy c:\test d:\test /s/e/c/a/k/h
