How do I rename a file in dos bat after .XLSM
I have a batch file that processes an excel macro. The macro creates a .txt file and then I close the worksheet and workbook.
I am trying to rename the .txt file without an extension within the same batch file but it doesn't work.
If I run the same ren command in another batch file it works.
Help??

Check out the call command.

call /?

You can use it to call the other batch file from the first one.

Are you waiting until Excel closes? If it's still holding onto the file, you won't be able to do much from your script.
