Hey can anyone link me up to the BEST FREE "BASIC" programming program, with help files and stuff. I'm in high school and this semester I'm in a BASIC programming course. Next semester I am doing "C" language." Also in this semester I am in a AP Computer Science class that uses Java.

I learned my first commando today lol.

yeh thats all we did with osme other stuff like CLS and = variables and making vertical leters blah blah.

so i need a good program for home fun and work.

Do you mean BASIC or Visual Basic. If it is BASIC there are no end of free compilers and interpreters available.

If it is Visual Basic, then the situation is slightly different but there are some free offerings available with some restrictions.

well school is using a program called QuickBASIC which isnt free I think.

So whats like it thats free?

There is a free BASIC called FreeBASIC that is quite close in using MS BASIC syntax.
