I know nothing about computers except how to send and answer e-mails and how to write a letter. All I want to do is generate the numbers 1-5000 on my computer using Microsoft office excell 2003. Like I said I'm a beginner so I need simple instructions. Thanks. CL

Hi this is R.S.A.
First, select the range of cells that u want, i.e., since u want
to fill from 1 to 5000 select 5000 cells(to do so click and drag
across the reqd cells)
1. Select Edit-> Fill-> Series
2. In Fill Series Dialog Box that appears on the screen,
u have various options.
3. Since u want nos from 1 to 5000, select direction as
DOWN (if you selected 5000 cells in a column) or select
RIGHT (if you selected 5000 cells in a row).
4. Select type as LINEAR.
5. Select Step value or Increament as 1.
