FSO Newline Character changed

June 26, 2014 at 10:36:33
Specs: Windows XP
My program broke because the FSO readline now sees a single CR as a new line character. Newline was always the CrLf combination. This changed somehow in the last few months.

I'm curious, what does FSO stand for - there are a stack of alternatives in Google?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

FSO is the File System Object used in VB.

Thanks for all your help out there!!!!

Did you check your input text file? Make sure the lines are broken with CR-LF, and not CR, LF, or LF-CR. Also that it's not unicode. (What is seen is not always what it truly is: use EDIT /70 or DEBUG or some other "true-value" method to uncover the true content of the file.)
I don't think the rules have changed for vbvscript or win-XP, since both "deprecated", no longer evolving under Microsoft. My bet is that the text files have changed format, and not the rules for FSO.readline.
