Hi,
I'm looking for a hosting website offering a "yourdomain.com" site at a reasonable price, does anyone know one?
Cristallerine.

First, register your domain yourself...Dont' have a hosting company do it. They occasionally hold the domain hostage to force you to continue paying them. I've learned this the hard way. The cheapest domain registrar I have found is registerfly.com. Register your domain there, then when you decide on a host, simply point the nameservers to your new host.
As for a cheap host, they vary greatly in features and price. You need to decide what features you want (space, bandwidth, operating system, and supported scripting languages are among the most important features for the average user) and find an affordable host that fits.
I personally use hostforweb.com, because I resell web space to my web design clients. If I only needed one domain, however, I probably would have tried powweb.com, for something like $7 or $8 per month you get lots of space, bandwidth, perl, php, and all the bells and whistles.
If you want to do an exhaustive search, try using google's directory. They have thousands upon thousands of hosts in their listings.
Good luck,
-SN

As far as registering a domain name, I would suggest GoDaddy.com. Yeah, the name is weird, but they offer domain registration for about $8.00/year. That's compared to about $35 - $40 offered by other companied like Verisign. Registration comes with everything you'd expect it too, and the also offer hosting for pretty cheap.

I use GoDaddy.com for registering the domain. If you've never registered a domain before and pointed it to a webhosting service, it's pretty easy so might as well learn now. A good web hosting service will take the couple of minutes to explain what you need to do.
I use www.assortedinternet.com. I believe that their low end websites start at $5/month.
