Right-Click on My Computer and choose MANAGE. Then open up the Services And Applications tree item and the bottom one should be Internet Information Service.

Chi

They mostly come at night...mostly.

And don't double post...It's irritating to answer a question then see that you already got an answer in another thread.

Hi guys,

SN,
If it irritates you to answer a question, you to come to the wrong place. We come here to help others by answering their questions, and also to have our questions answered. In my opinion, a double-post is an indication on how desperate the individual is for an answer.
There is no Administrative tools in XP from the control panel menu.

Chi,
I did what you told me and I found it; however, when I double click on it nothing happen. It seems like the exe file is missing. Strange!! any other clues?

Thanks guys for trying to help, I greatly appreciate that.

All true. But doesn't have anything to do with double-posting. If you read the Terms and Rules, you'll see this: "Do not post the same question on multiple forums. Even if the question could apply to the subject matter of more than one forum, choose whichever one best suits your problem and post on that. If you post the same message on multiple forums, all related posts will be removed."

The reason for this rule is that people don't want to answer a question only to find out they wasted their time because somebody else already answered it. In your case, your question could have been posted in the web development, programming, or Windows XP forums. But no matter how desperate you are for an answer, you just pick one and stick with it unless you don't get an answer. If everybody who was desperate for an answer posted on every forum they can, this place would be flooded with duplicate posts and nobody would know which ones had already been answered.

Having said that, I also double posted my first question here several years ago and I'm not saying it's an unforgivable sin...Just to not do it again because most people find it irritating.

And there definitely is an 'administrative tools' in the control panel in windows XP...I use it every day. Maybe you have to switch to classic view?

What are you double clicking on that isn't making anything happen? You should be able to expand the IIS folder and see a "Web Sites" tree node, then a "Default Web Site" tree node.

Good luck,
-SN

Hi guys,

Well! Among the people who find answering one double-posted question irritating, I'm not one of them. However, if it is the policy, I have to abide by it. Anyway...

I found it. It is not directly under "Control Panel". It is under "Tools and maintenance" in the “Control Panel”.

Once again, I thank you guys very much!!

Deus,
