Hi is there a way in excel to have a timer counting every second while excel is the active window. so for example say i have a variable called TimeCounter, i want this to increment every second, but if the user opens another application and send excel to the back then the timer should stop.

1) How do i make a timer
2)How do i test active window (i can do this bit but not the first one)

any help will be appreciated

Thanks,
