Hi,
Please some one can help me
I have a spread sheet and I need to allot numbers by rows and coloums and they must be in 9 digit or 12 digits but problem here is before assigning the number it has to check the last alloted number for that record in another worksheet i.e. "sheet2" and assign the new number.
Here I have 3 problems
1)Under Column "A" I have Main Record numbers Which might be 3 digit, 9 digit or 12 digit number.
2) Under Column "B","D","F","H","I", I have to assign Sub record Number based on the Main Record number i.e. if main record number under colum "A2" if it is 3 digit then it can allot number from series number which is give by me on sheet3 column "A1" but if main record number is 9 digit or 12 digit it has to allot as per row and column i.e. If under Column "A2" number="100000001" then under Column "B2" Number should be +1 i.e. "100000002" and Under Column "D2" "100000003" so on but before assigning number it has to search to see in sheet2 whether the Sub record number is present or not? If it's already present it has to assign new number i.e. last number assigned +1 to it for above example it should be in Column "F2" "100000004".
3) The above example is for one Main record if I have many main records i.e. Column "A3" number="200000001" and same as above for follow for columns "B3" number="200000002".
Please can some one guide me how to do the above work in a excel spread. Thanks & Regards,
Ramesh
