I have a service written in vb 2005 It runs beautifully on the development machine but as soon as I try run it on a server (Win 2003) I get the 1053 error "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" Any one have any ideas?

Not really; I don't have a Win2K3 platform to test on, and I haven't done much with services.
Still, can't you make an output file, and dump a bunch of debugging information into the OnStart method to see where it crashes?

This is of course a fairly generic message - does not tell WHY the service did not respond in a timely manner.
But 9 times out of 10 this will be a permissions issue. Is it your server at home or a server at work?
Not just anyone can run a service on Win 2003!
