embedded Visual Tools - HPC Problem

I am having major nightmares getting eVisualTools to connect to my Jornada 720. I have installed the device registry patch but still get no response when attempting to connect. It seems to try to start the server but gets no response from the device. The error message reads: CEMGRUI Unable to connect to the device. Please make sure you have installed the underlying transport (eg ActiveSync) and have a device connected. Activesync however runs perfectly. My setup is Windows98, ActiveSync 3.6, EmbeddedVisual Tools, SDK CE2000. Connection is on Com2. Any clues would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Rob
